Hello, 1st Grade!

Here's what we did in class today:

★AGENDA★

1. Today we started class by quickly reviewing the words we learned that connect sentences: and, or, but, so, and because.

★ And: We use "and" to connect 2 sentences that are giving similar or more information about something.

★ But: We use "but" to connect 2 sentences that are giving opposite ideas or information.

★ Or: We use "or" to connect 2 sentences that are giving you two options to choose from.

★ Because: We use "because" to explain why something happened.

Tip: Ask the first sentence "Why?" If the second sentence answers the question, use because to join the 2 sentences together.

★ So: We use "so" to explain what happened after/next.

Tip: Ask the first sentence "What happened next?" If the second sentence answers the question, use so to join the 2 sentences together.

2. Then, we completed WB pp.59-60.

Due Friday, December 16th, 2022

1. Complete the 2 grammar worksheets I handed out in class.

- Grammar Worksheet #1: Words That Connect (and, but, or)

- Grammar Worksheet #2: Words That Connect (because, so)

**Attached are the worksheets in case you need an extra copy.
